What to expect

Pass Plus is a practical driver development course designed to help newly qualified drivers continue building their skills after passing the practical driving test.

The course must be completed with a Pass Plus registered Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and consists of at least 6 hours of practical training delivered across a range of real-world driving environments. There is no formal test at the end of the programme; instead, the course is completed once the instructor is satisfied that the required standards have been met across each module.

At QualDrive, Pass Plus training focuses on strengthening observation, improving decision-making and developing confidence when driving in environments that many new drivers may have limited experience of.

Successfully completing the course can also provide additional benefits, including the potential for reduced car insurance premiums with some insurance providers.

WHO THE COURSE IS FOR

Pass Plus is designed primarily for newly qualified drivers, particularly within the first year after passing their driving test.

The course is especially beneficial for drivers who:

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

To enrol on the Pass Plus course, drivers must:

Hold a full UK driving licence
Have passed the practical driving test

The course involves a minimum of 6 hours of practical training, usually delivered across multiple sessions depending on driver experience and availability.

Once all six modules have been successfully completed, the instructor will certify that the required standard has been met. The Pass Plus certificate is then issued by the DVSA.

Drivers who successfully complete the course may be eligible for car insurance discounts with some insurers, although this will depend on the individual provider.
